Bulletin 7

Wednesday, November 22

Word Count Goal: 33,334

“We need to go.” Your voice shakes.

“What are you on about?”

“Just trust me. I think this whole mess is all tangled up in this map.”

Your cousin doesn’t have anything to say to that.

After all, this is the whole reason you’re here. Your writer’s curiosity was bound to get you tangled in this sooner than later. The two of you move silently to the local livery to grab a couple horses.

Give your character a time limit.

Tacking up is a grim affair, and soon you are riding across the open country. All you can hear are the sounds of nature as you ride through the night into the dawn.

The ambiences can be found on our linktree under the NoQu23 Ambience Playlist.

The map leads you to the foot of a mountain. Somewhere around the rolling foothills there should be an old mine, but it’s getting harder to see as you press on through the dusty winds.

Complete the Word Crawl for the Motivationally Challenged. (link in description)

How has your character changed through the story so far, and how far do they still have to go?

“GRIT, which cowboys call “Try.” It’s that quality of steely resolve - that mental toughness - that keeps you pushing toward your goal in spite of the struggles and setbacks.”

– James P. Owen
