“Even pirates, before they attack another ship, hoist a black flag.”
― Bela Clergy
As morning dawns, a fog seeps up from the waters– a sure sign of a coming front of cooler air to stir up the heavy atmosphere. You can barely see through the thick white cloak of mist. You jump as a metal hook slices through the billowing white haze, gripping the side of the Oaken Inkwell with a thunk.
Prompt:
A dense fog on the sea is a dangerous opportunity for a cunning enemy or a treacherous coastline. Have one of your characters serve as a lighthouse in the midst of fog and deception.
Dare:
"Man the guns!" Out of the gloomy haze, a challenger approaches, and a cannon full of words is sure to put a dent in them! Word war for a total of one hour today to fend off the approaching pirates.
Ambiance:
The fog seems alive as cannon balls fire back and forth between the Oaken Inkwell and the mysterious ship. A low tremorous wind raises goosebumps on your arms despite the muggy warmth of the morning– either that or the sinking realization that those battle cries are a reality.
Question:
How do your protagonist's internal battles affect the other characters?
