"To make an end is to make a beginning."
- T.S. Elliot
We've arrived at port in the wee hours of the morning, finally concluding the Voyage of the Oaken Inkwell. It's been an interesting adventure with some bumps along the way, but at the end of it the crew managed to deliver all of the ship's goods unharmed (though they may be a bit shaken up). Now it's time to unload, find an inn, get some rest, and adjust back to life as a landlubber.
Though I will miss the salty breeze and clear horizon, I'm glad to be on land again.
Now I have just a few things to say before we say our goodbyes to November altogether:
Firstly, thank you so much to everyone who participated in NoQu. Whether you hung out on the forums, tagged or shared NoQu on Instagram, attended the Write On Q sessions, or even just lurked and liked things, it is so encouraging to see that the Qummunity is building.
Thank you also for your patience and understanding where bugs and delays are concerned. While NoQu is constantly improving we still have a ways to go, and I greatly appreciate the Qummunity's empathy and understanding of that.
Secondly, endless thank yous to the Qummunity's superhero, Geata. She has been instrumental in keeping this going. From prompting me to get a head start on planning, to running all the Saturday WOQs, to moderating, to writing and refining the bulk of the Bulletins, she has put in considerable work for the Qummunity this year. She kept this November's challenge active and productive, to an extent that I wouldn't have been capable of on my own. I really cannot thank her enough for everything.
Thirdly, I want to tell you a bit about NoQu moving forward.
Like last year, you will see decreased activity on the NoQu blog, forums, and discord server. The activity won't stop altogether, but especially with the holidays it will be slower.
The off-season for NoQu is also when we put more focus on cleaning up the website and search for ways to improve it. In that case, keep an eye out on our Discord server for updates about the site.
In that vein, we will be sending a survey out in December via our newsletter and our discord to see what your experience was like this year, and how we can improve it in the year to come. So if you are not signed up for our monthly newsletter or part of our server, now would be a good time to sign up or join!
And that's all for now!
Thank you for joining NoQu on this voyage. I look forward to seeing you around the forums and finding out what 2023 brings to the Qummunity!
Have a wonderful day, and God bless!
