There are multiple things I love about indie publishing, but the thing I'm most appreciative of right now is the freedom it gives me to publish on my own schedule. That means I can publish more than traditionally published authors, if I want to, but it also means that I can publish less frequently than trad authors are expected to and take longer breaks (which is the direction I more frequently lean toward). And I can go back and forth, not publishing anything new for three years before publishing three books in the fourth year, if I decide that's how I want to pace my releases!
