Introduction: GeataRionnag

Hello everyone, I'm Geata, one of your moderators. I'm a lover of flowers and horses, and I'm chronically behind on dishes. I'm a Christian, and I'm married to my very own chivalrous knight in dusty construction clothes lol.

3 favorite books: Crime and Punishment and Fahrenheit 451 are two I discovered in high school and loved for their unique blend of philosophical and psychological thriller. And then, this one's not fiction, but I've read The E-Myth Revisited multiple times and I love the insights it gives on business building.

Favorite genres: I enjoy speculative fiction, both sci-fi and fantasy, mostly for their world building and political intrigue. I also like philosophical thrillers like above. I have grown to appreciate a little bit of romance as I've gotten older, but I much prefer the 1800s version as opposed to whatever is going on over on BookTok haha!

How I got into writing: I have to be honest with you first, I haven't written much in years. I do miss it though. For me I don't really know when it started, probably around 10 or 11 (which is the same age as my youngest sister is now, and her creativity has been really inspiring to me lately). But I really remember writing fanfiction for Stargate SG1 the year I turned 14. And then Star Wars fanfiction. And then, later, Harry Potter fanfiction. In between I've had different stories-- a story about corruption in a seaside village that I wrote a few pages of in a notebook, a story about an alien who can summon characters out of books for my first NaNoWriMo back in 2018 (I think), a story about a knock-off version of SHIELD, and my most long-running story, about decades of political intrigue and technological advancement and philosophy set in the far reaches of our solar system. As it stands right now though, I'd be happy just getting back into things enough to churn out a cheesy fantasy romance or something. I don't even know lol.

My NoQu Project: NoQu itself! I'm the Program Advisor for NoQu, which means that I'm the one responsible for writing the story elements for our bulletins and matching them up with challenges for you all. I should probably go work some more on that soon... Edna's work at bringing the logo to life has definitely been a great source of inspiration for me.
