Qummunity Hangout

Hello everyone! My name is Anton Logathro - well, no it's not, but that's what you can call me. (This is a writing community, so we all know about pen names, right?) I am at the moment only an aspiring writer, since I haven't finished any novel-length writing projects yet; I've started one, but I realized after I'd gotten a good bit into it that it had several major plot holes and needed a complete overhaul. That project is not the one I will be working on this month, particularly because one of the things I wanted to do the second time around was to make one of the main characters speak an invented language - which I have yet to develop! Instead, what I'll be working on is less something I intend to publish and more a collection of ideas I hope to expand on in future books and want to get feedback on. You see, even though I've never written a full book before (though I have written some short stories), I've been having story ideas all my life, and if I don't write some of them soon I'm going to explode! I've been wanting to start writing for a while now, but never could really sit down and get started, so hopefully joining this challenge will give me the kick in the pants I need to get going.

My favorite books are the Redwall books by Brian Jacques (that's actually where my profile pic comes from - Inbar Trueflight from Pearls of Lutra), which has heavily influenced my story ideas. I also have always liked the Oz series (Baum wrote more books - and other people wrote even more books - for those who only know of The Wizard of Oz), and it used to be my favorite before I decided I liked Redwall better. I like fantasy in general, especially with animal characters.

Well, anyway, I'd better get started on my - WHAT DO YOU MEAN, IT'S AFTER 7:00 ALREADY?? (Good thing I have an extra hour from the time change...)
