Bulletin 4

Saturday, November 11th

Word Count Goal: 15,000

The next day comes and you're eager to scope out the town in daylight. Your first stop: the saloon.

You sit down with a hot meal and begin to take note of the people around you. A couple gentlemen whispering in the corner immediately catch your attention.

Have a character pay close attention to one of their senses.

The piano plays around the corner as you scribble comments in your leather journal. The rhythm doesn't last long, as the gentlemen in the corner begin yelling at each other.

The ambiences can be found on our linktree under the NoQu23 Ambience Playlist.

Before you know it, the quarrel spills out into the street. Your knuckles are white as you grip your quill. A shot rings out. In an instant, the older of the two gentlemen lies still in the street.

Write for the duration of a song. We like Cattleman’s Gun by Dean Brody.

How will your character respond to whatever causes them to realize that things are serious?

“Talk low, talk slow, and don’t talk too much.”

– John Wayne
