I love this!

I don't mean this in a bad way because one day I do want to be a stay-at-home mother, but, Y'ALL ARE ALREADY MARRIED AND HOME-MAKERS???

I identify with Ariel's comment 100%. I had never dated and had no intention of dating let alone marrying. I had re-devoted myself to God and formed a bond with Him I never had before, and I didn't want anything interfering with that (or, I will admit, the plans I had for my own life).

But immediately after that, God began (very quickly) sewing seeds, putting a spotlight on my now husband who had only been a kind client at work until that season of life. I had no feelings or attraction at the time, but God kept pointing to him in a number of ways and next thing I knew, that kind client turned out to be an incredible man and a coffee date turned into a wedding.

God's timing and blessings are a mysterious thing. Again I had no real desire for a relationship, and I figured God would save those blessings for a young woman who did desire it. But He knows me better than I do, and His timing, plan, and understanding is beyond my comprehension.

Another thing I will say - society preaches waiting well into adulthood for marriage and families. That is an unnecessary generalization. I began dating my husband on the cusp of twenty, and we married when I was twenty one. Now I am twenty two, and we're ready to have children.

The key is to surrender all to God, to trust His guidance, and to use tact and intention when dating. That's all. That may happen when you're 19, it may happen when you're 50, but regardless so long as you pursue God above all else, it will occur in His perfect timing. We overcomplicate things too much.

Last point - homemaking doesn't require a husband. Whether you still live with your parents or you live by yourself or with roommates, you still have a place you live in and you can participate in making it a home.

@GeataRionnag, is the cover photo one you took? And if so, do you have the recipe for the pictured meal? 👀

I did make it but I don't remember exactly how. Here's my best guess though.

1 bag medium deveined tail off shrimp

3/4lb fettuccine noodles

Two small zucchini

6 small colorful snack peppers

Small sweet onion or two medium-large shallots

A bunch of fresh grated parmesan

Black pepper

Garlic (minced, jarred, lots)

Some heavy whipping cream

Boil the pasta according to directions.

In a separate pan, cook the onions and garlic till fragrant, then add zucchini and peppers cut in small pieces. Once the zucchini is starting to soften, add the shrimp. Once the zucchini is fully cooked, add the cheese, heavy cream, and pepper until it's a saucy consistency. Serve over noodles.

High Low Buffalo for Nov 5

High: finally got the recycling done (including my laptop battery)

Low: currently slightly bleeding from using a box grater on half-frozen mushrooms (pro tip, leeks don't do well with the slicy side of a box grater, stick to either a food processor or a good old fashioned knife)

Buffalo: cantered on a horse today for the first time in a couple months (going was good, the transition was not great, but we were bitless today so that's okay)
